Throttle Body Injection (TBI) EFI Systems
Throttle body injection EFI systems (also referred to as TBI systems) generally represent the best opportunity for implementing aftermarket fuel injection on an engine that is already equipped with a carburetor-style intake manifold and carburetor. In this case, there is no provision for fuel injectors on the engine, so either the entire intake manifold would have to be replaced with an EFI intake manifold (allowing the pursuit of an multi-point or MPFI EFI system) or a TBI throttle body would be swapped in place of the carburetor, complete with provision for fuel injectors. It is invariably the least expensive option in this case and modern TBI EFI systems present very little downside compared to MPFI EFI systems.
Narrow Your Selection:
- - The preferred choice for features and consistent performance under demanding conditions
- - A great choice for 4150 intake manifolds where boost and nitrous will not be used
- - The original still is the best choice for a number of applications not covered by Sniper 2
- - Great choices for several different 1- & 2-BBL intake manifolds
