Five Steps to Seat Buying Success!
Replacing the seats in your car or truck is a great way to improve both the comfort and looks of the vehicle. But most folks who arrive at this decision do so with little insight on how to proceed. Don't worry! I'm writing this to provide you with an easy overview of the steps you'll take and to assure you that we at RacingSeatsUSA will be available to you every step of the way. So read on!
While picking from the hundreds of seats we offer might sound daunting, you're going to find that it's not so hard to find the perfect seat. You'll find that our website groups automotive seats by several different categories to simplify the choice. The ideal seat for you is found at the intersection of your choices. Let's look at those groups.
Selecting Seats by Intended Use
Ok, let's start with an easy choice: How are you using the seat? Don't overthink this--We know that often there is some cross-use in seats. Street cars are occasionally used at the track. Trucks are occasionally taken off-road. These categories leave flexibility to find dual-use seats. Simply pick your primary use and we'll move on from there.
Step 1: Use the links below to open a new tab that will show the seats that match your intended use.
Selecting Seats by Style
Now let's get a bit more specific. Do you prefer a reclining seat or a fixed-back seat? Do you need a suspension seat to absorb harsh impacts? Again, there is some overlap here (such a reclining suspension seat) so pick what is most important to you.
Step 2: Go back to the tab you opened in Step 1 and use the Seat Style filter in the left navigation bar to select your style preference.
Selecting Seats by Manufacturer (Brand)
Strictly speaking, this is not necessary unless you came here intending to buy a specific seat brand. In fact, unless you have a reason for buying a specific brand, we recommend you compare all brands. We carry only top brands of seats, and each has models within every use and style that are worthy of your consideration.
Step 3 (Optional): Go back to the tab you opened in Step 1 and use the Manufacturer filter to select a particular brand of seat.
Choose Your Seat
Now we're getting to the good stuff. Even after making the choices above, you likely have many seats to choose from. Now you can use the other filters, including color, material, and price, to drill down to the perfect seat for your vehicle. Want a splash of color? Need a material that won't absorb occasional spills? Trying to stay inside a certain budget?
Step 4: Go back to the tab you opened in Step 1 and use the Color, Material, and Price filters to help make your final choice.
A word about pricing: Most seats are sold and priced individually. But the very popular Corbeau Reclining seats are sold and priced in pairs. So, if you're looking at a pair of Corbeau reclining seats, don't immediately disqualify them because the price shown (for the pair) is a bit more than the price of a reclining seat in another brand.
Add A Seat Bracket and Slider
Recognize that virtually every year, make, and model of vehicle on the planet has its own bolt pattern for its seats. It's unlikely you're equipped to create a bracket that is going to allow your new seat to be safely and easily bolted into your particular model. Even if you are, the time and materials required to create a bracket are greater than simply purchasing a bracket built specifically for your car and new seats.
While shopping for your seat by brand was optional, we strongly suggest that you purchase the same brand bracket as the seat. Or, if a bracket for your vehicle is not available from that brand, purchase a Planted Technologies bracket, which are made to accommodate virtually every brand of seat manufactured. Doing so will ensure a perfect fit between your seat and your bracket.
A word about sliders: None of the brands of seats we offer include sliders with the seat. However, most Corbeau custom brackets either include sliders or are adapters that mount the Corbeau seat on the factory base and slider. Yet another reason why Corbeau seats are quite often the best value in terms of total cost. Sliders are available for all other brands of seat brackets, but they are purchased separately.
